BaZi, also called Four Pillars, reads elemental patterns from birth time.
BaZi, also called the Four Pillars of Destiny, is a Chinese astrology system that studies a person’s birth year, month, day, and hour. Each pillar contains elemental information, creating a symbolic birth chart built from Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water.
For Wuxing, BaZi is the starting point of the customer journey. Instead of asking people to choose a crystal bottle at random, we invite them to take a free BaZi Five Element Reading, discover which element may need support, and then choose a vial connected to that chart pattern.
What does BaZi mean?
BaZi literally means “eight characters.” These characters come from four time-based pillars: year, month, day, and hour. Each pillar has two parts, creating the eight-character structure. In traditional Chinese metaphysics, these characters are interpreted through elemental relationships, seasonal strength, and the Day Master.

What is a Day Master?
The Day Master is the element of the heavenly stem on the day you were born. It is often treated as the symbolic “self” in a BaZi chart. When a reading says someone is a Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, or Water Day Master, it is referring to this central position.

What is a missing element?
A missing element is an element that appears weakly or not at all in a simplified Five Element distribution. In a full professional reading, there are many more layers. For an entry-level online tool, the missing element concept is useful because it gives beginners a clear and memorable way to understand their chart.
For example, someone with low Wood may resonate with themes of growth, direction, and renewal. Someone with low Fire may resonate with courage, warmth, and visibility. These meanings create a bridge between BaZi education and a physical ritual object.

How Wuxing uses BaZi
Wuxing does not claim to replace a professional BaZi consultation. Instead, it uses a simplified reading as a discovery tool. The goal is to help international customers understand Chinese Five Element logic in a way that feels interactive, visual, and easy to remember.

FAQ
Is BaZi the same as Western astrology?
No. Western astrology focuses on planets and zodiac signs. BaZi focuses on time pillars, stems, branches, and elemental patterns.
Do I need my birth hour?
A birth hour can make a reading more complete, but beginners can still learn a lot from year, month, and day.
Is this fortune telling?
Wuxing uses BaZi as a symbolic self-reflection and intention-setting tool, not as a guarantee of future events.
